Overhead Ceiling Lifts

Convenient & Safe Way to Transfer

Overhead Ceiling Lifts are a convenient and safe way to transfer from a wheelchair to bed, bathroom, or some other location in your home. Affixed to be at or near ceiling height, we have many options to ensure a safe and cost-effective installation, all while being aesthetically-pleasing.

Elegant Continuous Overhead Ceiling Lift Rail

At HomeBase Solutions, we are specialists in and certified installers of Overhead Ceiling Lifts. We handle everything from planning, coordinating the official drawings from the manufacturer, working with a structural engineer and obtaining permits (if necessary), and installing the lift.

We always prefer to work with your occupational or physical therapist and, if you do not have one, we have a few we can suggest to ensure that the product recommendations are appropriate for your needs. And, if you’re working with a contractor, we can be part of the extended team to provide an award-winning solution that you’ll enjoy for years!

The photo above features a continuous rail system in a high-end home with an incredible view that transfers the homeowner from bed to shower. The high ceiling required the use of supports that, as you can see, are far more attractive than most manufacturers that have their installers use flimsy shower curtain rod cover over the threaded rod.

In our humble opinion, this overhead lift did not detract from the beautiful home and view. And the picture immediately to the right of this section shows another way to elegantly install an overhead lift. This wall-mount XY (which means you can be anywhere within the space between the two parallel rails) is actually more affordable than you might believe!

Wallmount XY All Point H Track Overhead Lift
Compact Wallmount XY for Portable Lift Motor

In this application, you can see a wall-mount XY to see how it all fits in a relatively small space. A standard-size hall bathroom, using this lift on the first floor kept costs minimal and, more importantly, provides access to the tub and toilet from wheelchair. By using a portable motor, costs were further reduced by sharing the motor in other rooms.

This application of an XY system shows an elegant installation of an XY connected to a continuous rail lift system on the first floor of a two-story home. It shows a gate at the point closest to having access to the adjoining bathroom. This allows for complete coverage in the room and, then, access to the shower by using the locking gate mechanism to safely transition to the next room.

Since we did not have access from the attic, we had to remove drywall of the first-floor ceiling to install the support brackets. To ensure that everything looked amazing at the end, we taped, refloated, and retextured the entire ceiling.

XY to Hallway, Gate and Turntable

In this last project, we show how an overhead system can serve many rooms. This, too, was a project that had a second floor above, making installation a little more challenging; but we love a good challenge, and this worked flawlessly when we completed the effort!

Beyond the XY and gate system described on the other project, this project utilized a turntable that moves 90° to access either the living room or the bathroom from the bedroom.
